MAKE IT HAPPEN WITH THE MARKETPLACE

The Castro Valley Marketplace is excited to announce our new pop-up program for Alameda County-based food-based creators.

We know how hard it is to start and maintain a food-based business, and we want to do our part to foster entrepreneurship among our community which has supported us.

We’re inviting all Alameda County food-based businesses including, bakers, restauranteurs, chefs, food truck operators, condiment crafters, professional pop-ups, and more. Basically anyone who makes and/or sells food products to take advantage of this endeavor.

The program will officially begin in July 2025, but we’re taking submissions now to make sure we can provide the best experience for all participants.

If selected, you will have access to our full commercial kitchen with stoves, cooktops, ovens, mixers, freezers, fridges, fryers, utensils – just about everything you’d expect and need to create your culinary creations.

In addition, we offer high-traffic visibility placements and stations to serve and showcase your creations to the many locals who shop at the Marketplace.

There are a few requirements on your part:

  • You or your business must be based in Alameda County
  • You need to have the appropriate permits and training to operate a food service business. (Temporary Food Facility, Hot Food, or Cottage Permits)
  • You need to have the necessary insurance including workman’s comp.
  • No alcohol allowed.
  • You will provide demo and serving equipment.

Additional arrangements and requirements will be discussed should we choose you to move forward. We do have limited space and availability so we cannot guarantee acceptance.

But we are eager to hear from and hopefully work with you to support your business.
