Nate Bradley’s family has been importing olive oil for over 90 years, but it wasn’t until the 90s they decided to pivot toward retail. At an Amphora Nueva shop you can actually learn what fresh olive oil tastes like (most of us don’t know) and discover your favorite of the different varietals, much like wine. Obsessed with freshness, Amphora works with farmers in both hemispheres to procure the best quality olives, often paying a premium to a farmer who could leave fruit on the tree for a higher profit (but inferior tasting oil).
Amphora Nueva has shops in San Anselmo, Berkeley, and Lafayette, and its Castro Valley Marketplace kiosk will have over 18 different oils and vinegars on tap, some fused and infused with flavors so bright and pure, it will change the way you think about oil and vinegar.
