DESCRIPTION:  \nThe mezzanine at the Castro Valley Marketplace comes alive from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm featuring Bill Ortiz and Jonathan Alford on stage \nBill Ortiz was the lead trumpet player for Santana… a chair he has held for over twelve years In addition to his world travels\, Las Vegas showcases and arena gigs with Carlos’ crew\, Ortiz’s sweet\, assertive trumpet attack has made him one of the most in-demand players on the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. \nJonathan Alford has played piano since the age of 5. Taught by a musical after Alford played classical piano until he began exploring the world of jazz and Latin music in his late 20’s. Largely self taught alford has become a mainstay of the bay area music scene. He co-led Azesu with legendary Cuban timbalero Orestes Vilato of whom the Healdsburg Tribune said  ‘Azesu lays down a new marker for Latin Jazz.’ Alford has also played with John Santos and Machete Ensemble\, Santana\, Chocolate Armenteros\, and many other Latin greats as well as Bobby Hutchinson\,Maria Marquez and John Stowell.\nHe is currently the leader of Proteus Trio with grammy winning artists Evan Price and Lewis Patzer. Andrew Gilbert of the East Bay Times has said ‘Proteus trio brings together 3 of the most versatile and adventurous musicians in the bay area. DESCRIPTION:The mezzanine at the Castro Valley Marketplace comes alive from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm featuring Marco Diaz and Saul Sierra on stage \nMarco is part of the faculty at the Community Music Center in San Francisco and has been a part of the SFJAZZ teaching artist program since 2017. He is an accomplished recording musician who has shared the stage with Grammy Award winning artist\, Israel “Cachao” Lopez\, Nelson Gonzales\, Jimmy Bosch\, Pete “El Conde” Rodriguez\, Ska Cubano (Europe)\, Tito Rojas\, Nino Segarra\, Anthony Cruz\, Anthony Blea\, Jovino Santos Neto\, Joe Santiago\, and is an integral member of the John Santos sextet\, and the musical director for Bobi Cespedes.  Marco has participated in the San Francisco Symphony AIM program since 2000 and currently produces records and performs music throughout the country while also co-leading Vission Latina\, an Afro-Caribbean dance band\, and director of his own quartet\, The Marco Diaz Quartet. \nFor the past 20 years Saúl Sierra has been a member of some of the leading bands in the Bay Area\, including The John Santos Quintet/Sextet\, Bobi Cespedes’ band\,  Dr. Loco’s Rocking  Jalapeño Band\, El Tren Trío\, Anthony Blea y su Charanga\, The Snake Trío\, Jesús Díaz y su QBA\, The Bay Area Afro-Cuban All Stars\, The Venezuelan Music Project\, Corazón Sur\, Sababa band\, Cascada de Flores\, SJZ Collective\, LaTiDo\, \nA founding member of Vission Latina\, and The VLTro\, the bands that he co-leads with Carlos Caro\, percussionist extraordinaire\, and Marco Díaz\, virtuoso multiinstrumentalist (piano/trumpet)\, Saúl keeps himself busy performing\, composing\, arranging and teaching in the world class musical community of the San Francisco Bay Area. \nTwo of his newest projects include The Saul Sierra Trio\, a contemporary jazz fusion jazz trio and The Saul Sierra Quintet a pianoless latin jazz quintet. \nEnter through the west entry off the parking lot. \nA selection of cocktails and bar bites will be served by Night Owl.

The video went viral\, garnering millions of views on youtube\, and suddenly Laura & Anton were an international act\, flying around the US\, Europe and Asia for live appearances\, including a cameo in an Alec Baldwin film. DESCRIPTION:Brandon Begley has been professionally active as a jazz fusion guitarist and singer-songwriter for nearly a decade. The recipient of the prestigious Louis Armstrong jazz award upon graduating from high school and president of the National Tri-M Music Honor Society. Brandon’s resume includes a wide array of venues\, including\, but not limited to: Brick and Mortar Music Hall\, Savannah Jazz\, Angelicas\, and the Mondavi Center. Brandon has played many different settings: solo\, band\, jazz ensemble\, and orchestra pits. Brandon’s background; a dynamic mix of improvisation and varied arrangements\, creates a unique blend of jazz-fusion\, classical\, rock\, R & B\, blues\, contemporary music\, and theatrical\, television\, and video game soundtracks. A recent UC Davis graduate and entrepreneurial creative who is currently working on his debut singles and EP.

He is an accomplished recording musician who has shared the stage with Grammy Award winning artist\, Israel “Cachao” Lopez\, Nelson Gonzales\, Jimmy Bosch\, Pete “El Conde” Rodriguez\, Ska Cubano (Europe)\, Tito Rojas\, Nino Segarra\, Anthony Cruz\, Anthony Blea\, Jovino Santos Neto\, Joe Santiago\, and is an integral member of the John Santos sextet\, and the musical director for Bobi Cespedes.  Marco has participated in the San Francisco Symphony AIM program since 2000 and currently produces records and performs music throughout the country while also co-leading Vission Latina\, an Afro-Caribbean dance band\, and director of his own quartet\, The Marco Diaz Quartet. \nFor the past 20 years Saúl Sierra has been a member of some of the leading bands in the Bay Area\, including The John Santos Quintet/Sextet\, Bobi Cespedes’ band\,  Dr. Loco’s Rocking  Jalapeño Band\, El Tren Trío\, Anthony Blea y su Charanga\, The Snake Trío\, Jesús Díaz y su QBA\, The Bay Area Afro-Cuban All Stars\, The Venezuelan Music Project\, Corazón Sur\, Sababa band\, Cascada de Flores\, SJZ Collective\, LaTiDo\, \nA founding member of Vission Latina\, and The VLTro\, the bands that he co-leads with Carlos Caro\, percussionist extraordinaire\, and Marco Díaz\, virtuoso multiinstrumentalist (piano/trumpet)\, Saúl keeps himself busy performing\, composing\, arranging and teaching in the world class musical community of the San Francisco Bay Area. \nTwo of his newest projects include The Saul Sierra Trio\, a contemporary jazz fusion jazz trio and The Saul Sierra Quintet a pianoless latin jazz quintet. \nEnter through the west entry off the parking lot. \nA selection of cocktails and bar bites will be served by Night Owl.
